We Are Wildcrafted

Herbs gathered where nature intended them to grow.

Not all herbs are grown the same way.

Many herbs on the market today are cultivated on large farms, grown quickly in controlled fields, and processed on an industrial scale. Even organic herbs, though free from synthetic chemicals, are still farmed and shaped by human systems.

At The Old Herbalist, many of our herbs are wildcrafted.

They grow naturally in forests, mountains, and open meadows, far from industrial agriculture. They are shaped by the sun, the wind, the soil, and the rhythm of the seasons — not by fertilizers or irrigation systems.

This is what we call wildcrafted: herbs that grow where nature intended them to grow.

Wildcrafting is not just about where herbs grow, but how they are gathered.

Many of our herbs come from regions rich in wild plants, collected by experienced local gatherers. Others are sourced from small farms that follow traditional, low-impact growing practices.

The harvesting is done carefully, often by hand, and in small quantities, with respect for the natural balance of the land.

After collection, each batch is checked and selected with care, following the traditional principles passed down through generations. This slower, more respectful approach helps preserve the character, aroma, and natural strength of the herbs.

Nature grows them. We simply gather them with respect.
